Nintendo kicked off its Gamescom 2018 reveals two new playlists by Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the upcoming Nintendo Switch fee of the dear fighting series. The company shared two full bouts registered by the development team, both of which have a pair of new matches announced during this month's Smash theme Nintendo Direct.
The first clip, which you can see above, shows a one-on-one layer match between the return fighter Snake and beginner King K. Rool, appropriately set on the Congo Falls scene from Super Smash Bros. Melee. The video gives fans a closer look at the fragile hook's signature movements; You can see him shoot a big cannonball from his submarine bus and throw the crown like a boomerang. The match ends with King K. Rool's Final Smash, which causes him to shoot a devastating beam from his floating fortress to score the last knockout.
The second game, built in below, is a two-to-two match that shows Fire Emblem hero Lucina and Chrom against Metroid villains Ridley and Dark Samus. As revealed under Smash Direct, Chrom and Dark Samus are both Echo Fighters clones of other characters already on the list. Dark Samus is largely similar to Samus, albeit with floating motion, while Chrom is primarily based on Roy, originally a modified version of Marth.

The second match also gives a new look at Ultate's new Stage Morph feature. When we turn on, it gets a scene to turn into another in the middle of a battle. In the video above, the match starts at the Fire Emblem scene Arena Ferox before the transition to Brinstar. In the final game, players will be able to choose which two stages they will fight when Stage Morph is enabled.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches for Switch December 7th. The game has the largest selection of warriors and stages in the history of the series, with over 70 advertised warriors and 103 different stages. Nintendo bothered there are still a few characters to be announced before the game's release. You can read more about the title in our interpretation of everything we know about Smash Bros. Ultimate.
