New Studio Deviation games sign with PlayStation to create original IP

Summer Game Fest kickoff stream announced not only new games but also new studios. It has been revealed that a new studio called Deviation Games is collaborating with PlayStation to develop a completely new, original IP.

A PlayStation blog post by Deviation Games CEO Dave Anthony takes a closer look at how the process is going for both sides of the partnership. The new studio features devs who previously worked on Call of Duty for Treyarch, so this is a new direction for them.

7;s partner, Jason Blundell, had this to say about the news:

From experience, young specific studios need solid support to thrive. That’s why it means so much that PlayStation is working with us on our first game. As you all know – after enjoying the fantastic PlayStation Studios portfolio – they know what it takes to make great games. Having such a partner behind us means that the way forward is just fantastic.

The studio houses over 100 “Deviators”, and it continues to grow. Anthony was not able to comment specifically on what the new IP would be, but he asks that fans of their previous work stay up to date.
