New Pokemon Sword and Shield Trailer Highlights Highlights in the Galar Region

While Pokemon Sword and Shield released more than a year ago on the Nintendo Switch, in 2020 a significant amount of new content for the game was released. The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra DLC greatly expanded the game and added new areas to explore, new story content and new Pokemon to capture. Some of these Pokémon are older favorites, while others are brand new to the series. To celebrate DLC, Nintendo has released a brand new trailer for Swords and shields, which shines a spotlight on the content that players can find as part of the expansion.

The brand new trailer for the game can be found built-in below.

Most games in the mainline Pokemon series have received a “third version” over the years, and have added content that was not in the original release. To Pokemon Sword and Shield, Pokemon Company chose instead to release a DLC expansion, allowing players who already enjoyed the game to continue their adventure with their current team. Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra have both been available for a while now, but in the absence of a new Pokémon game this year, it makes sense to see Nintendo still promoting the release!

Next year will be the 25th anniversary Pokemon red and greenrelease in 1996. It is natural that previously announced games such as The Pokemon Snap and the Nintendo Switch sequel to Detective Pikachu could both drop next year. It is also possible that the next generation of Pokémon games may also be released. If that turns out to be the case, fans can probably expect to see a full revelation sometime in the next few months. For now, however, fans will only enjoy the content that is currently available!

Pokemon sword and shield is available now, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. You can check out all of our previous coverage of the game here.
