The Apple iPad mini 6 is expected to debut sometime this year, and leaks in the supply chain suggest that the next version of Apple’s pint-sized tablet will sports a larger screen. And a new rendition that appeared this week has shed light on what you might expect from the next iPad mini.
Manufacturer of accessories Pigtou has published photos and video of a 3D-printed model of a prototype of the upcoming iPad mini 6 5G, taken from well-known leaker David from @xleaks, and the big takeaway seems to be that the new design can have slimmer frames and more rounded edges than the current iPad mini.
While the size of the tablet seems to change little, cropping the edges can help Apple̵
It was already expected that the iPad mini 6 would cut close to its predecessor’s price range $ 399 to $ 499, and these leaky prototype models give little reason to expect a significant price change when the product hits the shelves.
Leaky reproductions should always be taken with a grain of salt, although it is not uncommon for accessory manufacturers to get an early hint about the size and shape of the devices so that they can have accessories ready for use when the finished product is.
The fact that renderings are appearing now may be a sign that the iPad mini is approaching a ship date. Many observers expect it to be one Apple April event shortly where new iPads are at the center. That said, we think it’s far more likely that Apple will focus on a new one iPad Pro 2021 than an iPad mini.
Apart from the thinner frame and the larger screen, the iPad mini 6 is expected to have an upgraded A13 processor and possibly a screen that uses mini-LED technology instead of an OLED panel.
