New Destiny 2 Update Releases Powerful Gear Error Just In Time For Raid Launch

The launch of Destiny 2s Forsaken DLC was relatively smooth, all in all, but it has suffered from a variety of different issues, something more serious than others. Those who are keen to get ready for Raid were sidetracked by a weekly resigned case this weekend, but Bungie has now released a new update that should resolve the case – just in time for Last Wish Raid.

Bungie's patch notes for hotfix 2.0.2.1 are relatively short as it primarily serves to correct the above problem. Over the weekend, there was a weekly reset that allowed players to earn more Powerful Gear Rewards (which should not have happened until Tuesday). However, these rewards did not go to the right power level, and the challenges were unavailable after Tuesday's weekly reset. This effectively prevented players from developing to the speed needed to jump right into Raid when it started.

Over the last few days, Bungie said it was investigating the issue, and now hotfix 2.0.2.1

provides affected players with the opportunity to participate in weekly challenges that will pay off the right benefits. If you completed these challenges this weekend but did not receive new ones on Tuesday, you should now see them in the director. With that fixed, you can continue to get Raid ready, as you can read more about our leveling guide. We also have a guide to making this week's Ascendant Challenge, which pays a strong reward.

Besides this, the patch solves two other problems. It prevents players from receiving free champions from Drifter, while the other deals with a problem that involves the reward for completing all Crucible weapon triumphs.

You can view the complete patron notes below. Please note that some players, including any of us on GameSpot, have found that DLC sites are missing from the director after installing the update. Fortunately, you can only restart the game or your system appears to correct this.

Last Wish Raid goes live Friday 14th. September at 10:00 ET / 6 PM BST on PS4, Xbox One and PC. It will inevitably be a race to complete it first, but due to a page fix error, some players have already opened Raid-coffin and received their rewards.
