New Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Trailer Shows Off Multiplayer Beta Content

The first season of the private multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 takes place this weekend for some players. Prior to the test, Activision and Treyarch has shared an intense new trailer showing various specialists, maps, weapons and other content that will be available to try out during beta.

The private multiplayer beta is only available to those who pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 – although Xfinity customers will also be able to participate, even without reserving the title. The first season starts exclusively on PlayStation 4 at 10:00 PT / 1 PM ET Friday 3. August, and will run at the same time on Monday, August 6th. Another session will be held for all platforms ̵

1; PS4, Xbox One, and PC – the next weekend from 10-13 August. You can see the entire schedule below.

As featured in the new trailer, the multiplayer beta will contain a host of weapons and 10 specialists, including the reclaimed nomad and the prophet, as Treyarch previously said "brand new gameplay mechanics built for Black Ops 4." Beta will also contain six cards to play, two of which will debut to the audience for the first time when the test starts.

In addition, beta will offer more different multiplayer options. In addition to fan favorite modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint and Search & Destroy, players will be able to try Control, a brand new goal-based mode that has teams that alternate between attacking and defending two "static goals."

Perhaps the most exciting, the new trailer fans give their first look at Blackout. The game Royal Style mode Treyarch introduces in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Blackout will not be able to play under multiplayer beta but fans will be able to try the expected mode beyond the game release through a separate Blackout beta that is slated to take place once in September. No exact date has been announced yet, but Activision has confirmed that it will also take place first on PS4.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches for PS4, Xbox One and PC October 12th. Those who participate in the private multiplayer beta will earn a few exclusive rewards. First, all participants will get a unique calling card, while those who hit the maximum rank under beta will earn a permanent unlock token, which can be used for any content of Create a class throughout the game. You can read more information about the beta on Treyarch's official website.
