Heat Shields no longer provide quick cures while within range.

There was no significant downtime for the latest update to Apex Legends, but it will unlock the Heat Shields since they were disabled in ranked and private matches on March 12.

However, along with several repairs since they were disabled, Heat Shields have become nerfed and will no longer have rapid healing while in the item’s protective dome.

While the passive was given to the item to help players heal, while avoiding the dreaded ticks that came from being outside the zone, there have been other uses that Respawn can respond to.

Apex Legends players found the Heat Shields’ passives extremely helpful in the late game situations, but the devs have done away with it since their return.

“It’s a bad idea to share clips about why you turn this on ranking. Sharing clips about why you turn this on in Rank is a good idea. Curious to see how Heat Shield affects gaming, ”said Associate Live Balance Designer John ‘JayBiebs’ Larson after the note was released. “I have some theories. Remember that we have many rings we can turn to balance. “

As one of the latest mechanics introduced in Apex, Respawn will monitor the situation more to understand where the best solutions can be made.
