"Spelunky 2" is a sequel to Derek Yus critically acclaimed 2008 rogue-like platform player, and it looks like a soul-breaking challenge as its predecessor. It has brand new premises, monsters, traps and objects, but it also adds a host of new features like riding festivals, floating physics and online multiplayer. There is also a visual overhaul, and the areas now have a second layer, which adds a third dimension to the players' exploration.
But in the lead, "Spelunky 2" is not so different from "Spelunky", Yu said. in a recent interview on PlayStation Blog. He sees followers as extensions of the previous games and said he wants fans to jump in and feel that they are playing a continuation, both from a historical and mechanical perspective.
That does not mean he does not think about new players, though.
"My philosophy has always been to attract new players by making the world more interesting and welcoming rather than focusing on tutorials and things like that," he said. "Spelunky" is still "Spelunky" and it will be very challenging ̵
" Spelunky 2 "comes to PlayStation 4 and Steam sometime next year. Fans can check out a Sony demo demo during PAX West 2018 this weekend.
