Netflix stops offering iTunes billing for new subscribers

  Netflix Malaysia

Netflix no longer allows Apple users to subscribe via their iTunes account. Existing users on iOS devices don't have to worry, as this new change only affects new subscribers.

According to the common questions, existing subscribers billed through iTunes can continue with their current billing method until it is canceled. iTunes billing will not be available to new customers or new customers. This means that new subscribers must subscribe by adding a valid credit / debit card or purchasing a 7 Eleven Netflix gift card.

For those who want to switch from iTunes to direct billing, they must cancel iTunes billing first before rebooting through the Netflix website. For more information on canceling iTunes billing, please refer to their guide.

With the move to release iTunes, Netflix can enjoy greater savings as it does not need to share a revenue level with Apple. However, it is worth pointing out that subscription via iTunes in Malaysia is a little cheaper for the Premium membership. On iTunes, it costs RM49.90 per month, while Netflix charges RM51 / month for the same premium subscription.

If you missed it, the Premium subscription gives you the ability to stream up to 4 monitors simultaneously, and it supports Ultra HD resolution. For those looking for a cheaper alternative, the streaming service tests out the RM17 / month mobile only option in Malaysia.
