Netflix and the creators of Outer Banks sued for “stealing” the plot of their teenage drama from author KW Wooten

Independently published author KW Wooten has allegedly sued Netflix and the creators of Outer Banks for “stealing”

; the plot of their teenage drama, which began streaming on April 15.

In 2016, Wooten released Pennywise: The Hunt for Blackbeard’s Treasure! about four young adults who discovered buried treasure from a fabricated shipwreck along the outer shores of North Carolina.

‘The archetypes of his main characters and the show are almost identical,’ the lawsuit claimed – according to TMZ.

K. (first name Kevin) noted that co-creators Jonas & Josh Pate said they were inspired by Outer Banks while living in Wilmington where he had published copies of Pennywise.

Wooten demands that the creators (including Shannon Burke) add a title card to the opening points that highlights him and his Goonies-style novel, and he is also looking for injuries.

Meanwhile, the cast and crew of Outer Banks have worked hard to film the second season of The Adventure Mystery.
