The story of Nairoby “Nairo” Quezada has evolved quite drastically over the past year from an exiled Super Smash Bros. legend to one with a hopefully brighter future, but that doesn’t mean he always sat idly by during time away from the creek.
Sephiroth’s announcement came during The Game Awards last year with Nairo watching the event with some friends on Discord.
He was immediately able to guess that the fighter would be a Square Enix representative with Dragon Quest Heros included in the trailer, although it did not hit him until ‘One Winged Angel’ kicked in that the hype would start flowing out like a big fan by Final Fantasy.
The social response to the video led to Nairo trending on Twitter again with many other players showing support for watching the pros create content again, while others continued their pressure to have his ban lifted by Twitch.
Seeing Nairo’s reaction to Sephiroth reveal right now made me so incredibly happy 😭 can’t wait for my boy to start streaming again

Nairo faced allegations of sexual misconduct in July 2020, which led to the 24-year-old being banned from tournaments, community functions and streaming.
Nairo’s Sephiroth reaction made me cry, I’m so glad to have him back after such a long # unbannairo day 38

He sought legal action behind the scenes, and combined with additional information that was published, led several organizers to lift the ban on competition.
The profile plans to return to streaming this week on YouTube since his Twitch account is still banned, which could also create problems for joining tournaments played on the platform.
