It may well be that it was first launched on Friday, but Monster Hunter Rise is already performing very strongly for Capcom.
The publisher has today announced that the latest title has sent an impressive four million units in the first three days of sale. It is worth noting the fact that ‘sent’ and ‘sold’ are not the same (this ‘sent’ figure applies to the number of copies sent to retailers, not the number actually picked up by consumers), but it is a great start nonetheless.
Despite the strong opening weekend, Rise has not fully matched the launch of Monster Hunter: World back in 201
Of course, more Monster Hunter are still on the way later this year when Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin brings its fresh RPG goodness to Switch in July. The game will feature elements that “can link” with Monster Hunter Rise, and Capcom will no doubt hope for even more success when it comes.
In a press release, the studio states that it “remains committed to meeting the expectations of all users by leveraging its industry-leading game development capabilities to create highly entertaining gaming experiences”. Rise is absolutely entertaining, we give it to them.
