Modern Warfare 2 is now backward compatible on Xbox One

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is finally available as part of the Xbox One Backward Compatibility Program for those who own a digital or detailed copy of the Xbox 360 version. It is considered to be one of the most influential Call of Duty games released on the Group's last generation, putting new franchise sales into a population record of its time.

Call of Duty Announcement: Modern Warfare 2 Comes To Xbox Backward Compatibility was made today by Major Nelson on Twitter.

To celebrate this announcement, Microsoft also offers a sale on the game this week. You can take advantage of a discount on the digital copy via the Xbox One store if you are interested in playing it again on Xbox One.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 released on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 back in November 2009. It got a little controversy because of its "No Russian" scene, so players went through a massacre at the airport. The game has still retained a lot of popularity online, mainly due to multiplayer that has still passed the time trial.
