Microsoft Teams gets ‘nostalgic’ background with Clippy and Solitaire

Microsoft Teams got one old-school makeover on Thursday with the debut of the throwback background. Pictures of beloved paper clips Clippy and nostalgic card game Solitaire are among the backdrops available for your next Teams call.

Other scenes you can choose from include an animated image of Microsoft Paint and the calm ground that appears in the default background of Windows XP in 2001.

You can download one of the four images on the Microsoft website today.

Last month, Microsoft revealed some new features comes to Teams. The updates, which will be launched in the coming months, aim to help hybrid workers as companies began reopening their offices after a mass closure during the pandemic.

A function, called First rowwill put the external participants of the conversation at the bottom of the screen so that they can be face to face with their colleagues in the office.
