Microsoft has gone ahead with a patent to create chatbots that can mimic the personality of a particular person. The technology giant received permission for the patent earlier this month after it originally filed the license in 2017.
Microsoft’s goal is to create artificial intelligence generated from individual personalities, dead or alive, based on social media, electronic messaging and other forms of personal information. The company plans to use images and video data to make its avatars more realistic.
Several start-ups are already working on technology that is capable of creating 3D holograms.
“Our software allows simultaneous capture of multiple people in different locations in real time,” said Javier Bello, founder and CEO of Imverse. “This photography can be integrated into games, teleconferencing applications, educational platforms, built with standard 3D content software.”
