Mercedes-AMG A 45 S will report low 416 hp

As we found in our first station, the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class is no joke. It may be the least expensive car in the lineup, but unlike CLA, it actually feels like a real Mercedes. We also learned that in addition to the sporty A 35, AMG also worked with an even more powerful A 45. But how powerful would it really be? Would it really do more than 400 hp?

It will depend on which version of A 45 you buy. Although Mercedes has not yet released specifications on A 45, HUK24, an online insurance company in Germany, already shows power take-offs for both A 45 and A 45 S. First reported by Motor1 the insurance company's listing for A 45 suggests that it will provide 382 hp, while the A 45 S will alternate an impressive 41

6 hp. If the HUK24 website is to be believed, this power comes from a turbocharged 2.0 liter engine, giving the A 45 S a specific output of 208 hp per liter. Turbo 2.0 liters in today's Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 and GLA 45 is 375 hp.

When the A 45 S is officially revealed, it is most expected in the Geneva Motor Show in March that it should appear in hatchback form. But do not assume the fact that the United States will not get five-door A-class means that AMG-posed A-classes are only meant for Europe. Based on a brief conversation we had with Tobias Moers, head of AMG, it sounds like Mercedes is planning to sell at least one hot A-class sedan here. It must only decide whether to choose one or offer both. But in this way we will be willing to make sure that it is an A 45 sedan in our future.

Let's just hope it gets a little more rounded than CLA45 AMG was.
