Melty Blood Type Lumina announced, and yes, it will have recall network code

Somewhere Go1 shouts from the roof

Almost 20 years ago, one of the most famous / infamous anime fighting games was brought to life with Melty Blood, and now it seems to be giving a new brand to the world.

The Type-Moon Ace magazine in Japan just unveiled a brand new sequel / entry in the series that will be out soon, and it̵

7;s called Melty Blood Type Lumina.

Players familiar with the spin-off Tsukihime will immediately notice that Type Lumina looks very different from the games that came before it.

Character sprites seem to have been redesigned in a similar style as Under Night In-Birth along with new artwork, a protectionless HUD and widescreen display.

Only four characters are confirmed via the first screenshots (thanks to BananaShiki) with Shiki Tohno, Arcueid Brunestud, Akiha Tohno and Ciel.

Since they seem to go for more of a sequel and not just an extension like previous listings, French-Bread Type Lumina does not confirm all the characters that were available previously.

One they confirm will not return is Zion Eltnam Atlasia, who until now has been the main character in the series, partly due to the new game that takes place before the events in Tsukihime.

Perhaps the most interesting note to combat players is that they also confirmed that Type Lumina will use recurring online code, which will be the first time for a French-bread-developed game.

The developers had previously openly experimented with return, which fans assumed would be for Under Night In-Birth, although the prospect of it still seems to be in the air.

Interestingly, French-Bread cites Granblue Fantasy: Versus as an influence for the new game, since Type Lumina will also have a unique dialogue between different character combinations.

Melty Blood Type Lumina is currently under development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch with a worldwide release date planned sometime in 2021.

The last entry in the series, Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, was released back in 2011 with the Steam version that most people continue to play at the launch in 2016.

A website and a Twitter page have been created for Type Lumina, although they do not currently have any content.
