Amazon is preparing for a massive PS5 rebuild this week, according to leaks online. An upgrade from Amazon PS5 was originally tipped for last week, but it looks like it could happen this week.
Several PS5 tracking accounts have reported that Amazon has nearly 50,000 PS5 consoles ready for use, but it is not yet clear when the PS5 recovery date will materialize. When it arrives, you have to join the game to catch a console, so we have some tips below.
Updating Amazon PS5 today
Update: As of 18:25 on March 22, Amazon does not have PS5 stock, but TechRadar says that an Amazon PS5 recovery can take place this week.
YouTuber Jake Randall and Matt Swider of TechRadar, who have been tracking PS5 stocks for a while now, suggested that Amazon PS5 recovery would be between 6 p.m. 09.00 ET and 1
However, all hope is not lost, as several sources claim that Amazon PS5 recovery may happen soon. So for now, we keep a close eye on the website and will update if the stock situation changes.
Amazon PS5 Recovery: Quick Links
PS5: $ 499 on Amazon
Check stock: The flagship PS5 console includes a 4K UDH Blu-ray Disc drive. As a result, the design is a bit fuller than the all-digital model. It sells for $ 499 and includes a PS5 DualSense controller. See offers
PS5 Digital Edition: $ 399 on Amazon
Check stock: The PS5 Digital console lacks a 4K UDH Blu-ray disc drive. As a result, it is slightly thinner than the counterpart. It also sells for $ 399 ($ 100 less) and includes a PS5 DualSense controller. See offers
Jake Randall also tweeted this week that Amazon plans to offer 46,000 PS5 consoles under its next PS5 stock. TechRadars Matt Swider has posted evidence on Twitter today suggesting this is still the case. So while the time slot has clearly moved, there are still all indications that Amazon is planning a massive PS5 recovery very soon.
You did not miss it. Amazon PS5 recovery was scheduled for today 14:00 UTC (10:00 ET). Can fall at any time – it’s up to Amazon. Best Buy last Friday was 3 hours late for me. Everyone doubted then too. The good news? Amazon has 46,000 PS5 stocks – just waiting. I’m pinging you. Info is free pic.twitter.com/c7UGidMjSK March 18, 2021
Although we do not usually get hard numbers when it comes to console updates, 46,000 units seems like a good amount of PS5s. This may mean that this week will be the best chance since the release date for eager players to get a system.
Similar reports have flown around the other side of the pond, with several stock tracking accounts claiming that Amazon UK would release PS5 shares this week along with its US counterpart.
This is a good indication that the reports of a massive rebuilding of the Amazon PS5 are more than just wishful thinking, since Amazon has previously filled several regions within a few days of each other.
Of course, until the recovery actually happens, it’s important to remember that these are technically just rumors, and Amazon itself has not officially confirmed anything, and the chances are high that they will not. The dealer usually releases stock without warning, we do not expect to know the validity of these rumors until later in the week. But with so many reputable PS5 stock tracking accounts confirming the information, it definitely feels like there is at least some truth in the rumors.
PS5 shares are being replenished more regularly than ever at the moment, suggesting that the stock turmoil that has plagued the console since its launch is starting to disappear.
If Amazon actually has a PS5 recovery later this week, you need to be ready. 46,000 PS5s certainly sounds like a lot, but the stock will still likely sell out in minutes, as players and (unfortunately) scalps compete for the console. Below you will find the best tips to help you be one of the lucky few to receive the elusive order confirmation email.
How to get PS5 on Amazon this week
It’s not a guaranteed formula for success when it comes to securing a PS5 under an Amazon stock, but there are a few things you can do to tip the odds in your favor.
First, make sure you have set up an Amazon account in advance. Do you have address information and payment details pre-stored as well.
Getting stock in your basket is only half the battle, once you have cleared that it is a race to complete check-out. If you are stuck with entering your card number and zip code, the odds are that the console will be sold out while you write away.
Signing up for Amazon Prime is also useful if you want fast shipping, but it will not give you any advantage when you actually pick up a PS5 – you do not need to subscribe to get first access to a recovery.
A little weird Amazon trick that has done the rounds recently is that by placing the console in your wish list in advance when it’s new, you can add to your shopping cart from there. This allows you to bypass the listing page, which practically always crashes due to overwhelming traffic.
By using this trick you can usually get stock in the basket the moment the stock is alive, and it gives you a pretty big advantage over people who are stuck trying to update the actual PS5 listing page in hopes of getting it to work.
Make sure you have the PS5 on your wish list in advance, as you can still add it even when the console is sold out. Do this well in advance of the reconstruction to make use of this trick.
We tested this method even last time Amazon launched the Xbox Series X and can confirm that it actually works. We managed to get Series X in our basket four times, while we could not get the console in our basket once through the listing page as it kept crashing.
