Mass Effect: Legendary Edition remasters BioWare’s original Mass Effect trilogy. To give you a better idea of how much of a transformation we are talking about, we have put together several comparison screens.
As the original Mass Effect gets the most out of the remaster when it comes to updated character models and locations, you’ll probably notice the big differences in these screens. That said, there are also noticeable improvements for Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 in Legendary Edition – also, surprisingly, BioWare has changed the shot for certain scenes in ME2 and ME3. For simplicity, all the screenshots on the left side of the comparison are from the original trilogy (which was taken from the PC version of the game), while those on the right are from Legendary Edition. We have listed the screens in the order in which they appear.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is scheduled to launch for Xbox One, PS4 and PC in May. In addition to the Legendary Edition, BioWare is also working on a fifth Mass Effect that serves as a direct sequel to the original trilogy, Dragon Age 4, and a renewal of Anthem. However, EA reportedly meets to determine if Anthem is still a project worthy of additional resources.
