Nintendo has announced that it is developing a third entry in Luigi's Mansion for Nintendo Switch. The game was debuted at the beginning of today's Nintendo Direct presentation, where a very short teaser was shown, along with a release date for 2019. The name Luigi's Mansion 3 was listed as a work title. No further details were given about the game.
The last Luigi's Mansion title was Dark Moon, released for Nintendo 3DS in 2013. The game received a 6.5, with reviewer Carolyn Petit describing it as a "most charming game at the moment of opportunity so frustrating, they threaten to overshadow the entire experience. "
She continued:" These errors are all the more disappointing because the better elements of the game are so charming. You may still want to pick up PolterGust 5000 and explore these haunted houses, but be warned: the things that trickle in these dark places probably do not scare you but they can see you red. As the name suggests, Luigi's Mansion game star Mario is continually on edge brothers as he tries to remove an area of creepy residents by sucking them up with a vacuum. He's actually a Ghost Buster, but always scared of everything. The games are usually a mix of exploration, puzzle and a warfare against spooky poltergeists.
The first game in the series launched for the Nintendo Gamecube and a restoration of This comes to Nintendo 3DS. A mini theme around Luigi's Mansion was also included in the Nintendo Wii U launch, Nintendo Country.
