LG has unveiled its latest sound bar in front of CES in January next year. Made with Meridian Audio, the new SL10YG, SL9YG and SL8YG support both Dolby Atmos and DTS: X and built-in Google Assistant functionality.
This means you can control all three speakers using voice commands, ask the assistant to raise the volume, identify the song being played, or throw up your favorite playlist. Having an assistant back inside also means you can use the audio bar as a smart home hub, which controls products such as Wi-Fi connected lights and blinds without getting out of the couch.
Design-wise the new soundbars are quite minimalist. They are sleek and unobtrusive, and look ready to fade into the background of your living room. Interestingly, the SL9 model also has a built-in gyroscope that LG says "measures the position of the product (attached to a wall or on a flat surface)" and adjusts the sound output accordingly. Users looking for more bass can also increase the trio with LG's wireless rear speaker set.
There are no details on prices or availability at the moment, but LG will showcase the new audio beams at CES in January 2019, so watch out for more information then.
