It is a feature that was first introduced on robovacs from companies like iRobot and Shark, but LG has just revealed a wireless stick vacuum with a charging station like automatically empties the vacuum cleaner when anchored, which gives you less of an excuse to deal with all the tile crumbs that fall to the floor during the daily attempts to get you up off the couch.
Despite a hefty name, the new LG CordZeroThinQ A9 Compressor + Wireless Vacuum Cleaner is yet another lightweight, wireless vacuum cleaner that makes cleaning floors clean and even spills less work, but even with two replaceable batteries included, you probably won’t be able to clean the floors of an entire house in one pass. It’s the one that goes out with going wireless, but at least LG is now offering a consolation price.
The vacuum docking station should make it easy to charge the LG CordZeroThinQ A9 Compressor + without having to reach for a wire, but once docked, the stand sucks all the dirt and rubbish out of the bin for you: a convenience that anyone who has handled a dust cloud like running out while emptying Dyson’s cordless vacuum cleaners will appreciate. The dirt is collected in a larger dust bag which either has to be emptied sporadically or replaced completely – LG has not specified whether the system needs a constant supply of new bags.
What is certain, however, is that the docking station is not exactly small, and despite the marketing material, you probably do not want it to sit out in the living room. In addition to the dust collection system, it also stores a bunch of extra cleaning nozzles and accessories for the wireless vacuum so that they do not end up disappearing in a cabinet or tool drawer. The LG CordZeroThinQ A9 Compressor + may also be able to make the floors shine as it has a built-in water tank and a replaceable Power Mop accessory with a pair of spinning microfiber cushions that can be used to mop wooden floors.
When it comes to vacuum cleaners, the LG CordZeroThinQ A9 Compressor + offers more features and functionality than any of its competitors, but that’s probably also why LG has not revealed pricing information yet. With the charging station, extra battery and mopping features, this vacuum will probably come with a price tag that pushes the thousand bucks, but can you really appreciate that you do not have to empty a small dust container every day?
