I gave up the LEGO Technics Porsche GT3 RS kit, so it didn't really look like a GT3 RS, because the nearly 3000-bit set had some serious cool mechanical details. Ditto Bugatti Chiron set released earlier this year. The Danish toy giant now has a new Technics set that allegedly approaches Chevrolet's Corvette ZR1. It's very bad.
Admittedly, it is relatively cheap. Compared to a $ 300 price tag for Porsche and $ 400 for Bugatti, Corvette is $ 49.99 a veritable bargain. This is smaller and less complex than the other two, which explains the fall in prices. But the boy is this thing a uggo.
Please let me touch my extremely white teacher in an inner city school movie here for a moment. LEGO, let me rape for a minute. I love your products, I really do. The Ferrari F40 you did a few years ago? It was amazing. The VW bus and Mini Cooper were also very fun. I know you have potential but you are just throwing it away [the man]. Do you have problems at home? You can talk to me.
If there is a saving of this set, you can choose to build another vehicle with it. Instead of a Corvette ZR1, LEGO will also give you instructions on building a vintage hot rod. Hot Rod looks almost right, which is a big improvement over ZR1.
My suggestion to anyone who buys this set is to build ZR1 first because the building is great fun. Then tear it apart and turn it into an old hot rod because it's the one you actually want to show on your shelf.
The kit will be available in stores and online on January 1, 2019.
