Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is delayed and does not yet have an updated release date.
Developer TT Games announced the delay on Twitter. “We all at TT Games are working hard to make Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga the greatest and best Lego game ever – but we need more time to do it,” the statement said. “We will not be able to make our scheduled release date for the spring, but will provide an updated launch date as soon as possible.”
All release dates for video games from 2021 are placeholders at best. A number of things can cause delays even under ideal circumstances, and with the world and industry as unstable as they are, the odds of delays have never been higher. This Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga delay could push the game a few weeks or a few months back ̵
The Lego Skywalker Saga was originally planned for October 2020 according to a leaked trailer, but a quickly drawn Lego store item later fixed it for 2021. The spring of 2021 is a fairly new release goal for the game, so it’s in a way no big surprise to see it slide further into the year.
The good news is that from what we’ve seen so far, the Lego Skywalker Saga will be worth the wait. Like our friends at OPM reported earlier this year, the massive adventure game lets players explore all nine Star Wars movies in any order, with approximately 300 playable characters in between. It includes Babu Frik, and playable Babu Frik is a back-of-the-box blurb if I’ve ever seen one.
Think of it this way: this delay gives you more time to save many, many Lego sets included Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
