Leaked photos allegedly show new AirPods 3 with in-ear design and smaller case

AirPods are generally expected to be updated this year with a new AirPods Pro-style design. Newly leaked photos from 52 sound this weekend we claim to offer our first real look at the newly designed AirPods, highlighting silicon earpieces, redesigned charging case and more.

Bloomebrg was the first to report on Apple’s plans to launch new entry-level AirPods. These AirPods have a shorter stem and replaceable earbuds. Ming Chi-Kuo has also reported that Apple will launch new AirPods with a design similar to AirPods Pro.

The biggest change here is that this means that AirPods 3 will have an in-ear design, instead of resting on your ear like the current AirPods do. This is confirmed by the new pictures that have been leaked 52 sound, who had previously shared selected photos of AirPods 3, but now shares more photos (via MacRumors).

The photos show AirPods 3 with a design that is clearly inspired by AirPods Pro. They have a shorter stem with in-ear design when using silicone earplugs. The charging bag has also been redesigned to be a little smaller and narrower. The report adds that these AirPods 3 will have the same Force Sensor controls as the AirPods Pro.

In terms of features, the website also says that AirPods 3 will have Apple̵

7;s specialized ventilation system for pressure equalization, which aims to minimize the discomfort when using AirPods over a longer period of time. Today’s report also suggests that AirPods 3 will support Spatial Audio. AirPods 3 is expected to lack other AirPods Pro features such as active noise reduction and transparency mode.

Finally, the report says that the AirPods 3 will probably be priced around $ 150 and will be released in March 2021. That said, it is treating this rumor with some skepticism, especially when it comes to claims about features and pricing. While the new design seems almost certain at this point, other details are still up in the air.
