A recently leaked photo claims to offer our first real look at the redesigned notch that may be on the way with the iPhone 13. This comes after several reports have suggested that Apple plans to reduce the size of the notch with this year’s iPhone upgrade. .
As first reported by MacRumors, the Greek technology repair company iRepair acquired what they claim are the front panels of the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The photos clearly show front panels on the iPhone in three different sizes, each of which has a smaller notch.
Also in this picture you can see that the earplug has been moved over the notch and into the top frame. This design change was first rumored last year with regard to the iPhone 1
Although this image provides a good way to visualize a minor notch with the iPhone 13, we will treat it with a bit of skepticism. Again, this design change has been rumored before, and this picture may very well show something that was created based on the leaked form from last year.
But having said that, the evidence is mounting that the iPhone 13 that was introduced this year will have a minor notch. Reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported earlier this month that the iPhone 13 series will have a minor notch as one of the “most important hardware specifications changes.”
Supply Chain Blog Macotakara also reported in January that the iPhone 13 would have a minor notch. This report specifically mentioned that this change would be possible when relocating the earpiece.
