We already knew that Avalanche Studios worked on RAGE 2 but we now have a little more insight into the collaboration with id Software. The mirror to IGN during QuakeCon said game director Magnus Nedfors that id Software, who developed the first game, works closely with avalanche "Since Day One", but mostly at a "creative level".
"We in the avalanche are fighting," confirmed Nedfors. "We have written the code, we have created art and stuff. That part of the development is made in Avalanche in Stockholm." RAGE 2 will nevertheless feel similar to DOOM as the developers have been taught " id-style "of doing things. Nedfors added that id-studio director Tim Willits wanted the game to feel like an id production.
Eldsted said Nedfors to IGN at RAGE 2 will contain airplanes, a very short glimpse that we captured in the RAGE 2 s E3 trailer. "There's a car, a bike and a small flying vehicle that's yours," he said. "You can develop them and you can customize them and so on."
Players will also be able to steal other cars from the wilderness and drive them around.
RAGE 2 is expected to expire in spring 201
