Jurassic World Evolution 2 is coming this year

Frontier Developments has announced Jurassic World Evolution 2, the sequel to your dinosaur park building sim. I say Frontier announced it, but actually on the big screen at the kickstart of Summer Game Fest, Jeff “Life Finds A Way” Goldblum introduced the new trailer. He will repeat his role as Ian Malcom from the Jurassic World movies for the game, and other cast members will join him as well. Jurassic World Evolution 2 will be launched later this year.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 moves away from the Muertes archipelago and allows players to build their dino parks in new biomes, such as deserts and forests. Sure! Create more giant bad idea parks around the world! I̵

7;m sure nothing will go wrong putting more killer keys everywhere!

My personal grips with Jurassic World aside, the sequel sounds full of good things. It has several new game modes, such as a sandbox and something called Chaos Theory, which “offers a new imagined take on important moments from the Jurassic World movie franchise. If you are interested in the movies, there is also a story campaign set up after events in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, featuring the talents of Goldblum and co-star Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing.

On top of that comes new flying and marine dinosaurs, some recurring player-favorite species and new dino behavior. Hopefully, this behavior involves locking back in the cages when they inevitably escape.

The 2018 Jurassic World Evolution review called the first game “the most boring of all possible results for a dinosaur theme park sim.” So hopefully the sequel can make it a little better?

Jurassic World Evolution 2 launches on PC, as well as PlayStations and Xboxes, in late 2021.
