Intel's 9th generation processors rumored to launch October 1 with 8 kernels

Intel is rumored to introduce its 9th generation processors in October. While Intel's 10nm Cannon Lake chips have been delayed by 2019, this year's update will be based on improvements to the existing 14nm process. Wccftech reports that Intel will introduce new Core i9, i7 and i5 chips on October 1st which will be labeled as 9th generation processors.

The regular flagship processor, Intel Core i9-9900K, is expected to ship with 8 cores and 16 threads. Tasty documents show that this will be the first regular Core i9 processor processor, including 16 MB L3 cache and Intel UHD 620 graphics chip. Even Intel's 9 Core i7 processor is expected to deliver 8 core and 8 threads (up from the current 6 kernels), with the 6-core Core i5 shipment and 6 threads.

Intel unveils its unlocked overclocking processors first, followed by several ninth generation processors early next year. If the launch on October 1

is accurate, we should expect these processors to be available in a number of machines later this year. Of course, anyone who builds his own rig will look exactly how Intel's latest processors compare with AMD's Ryzen chips in games and other tasks before parts are picked. We should begin to see answers to these questions later next month.
