Flight Simulator offers near photorealistic views of the earth from the cockpits of more than two dozen aircraft, but blocked channels and traffic jams are not part of the basic game. For that you need to download the free Suez Traffic Jam mod from Flightsim.to, as well as Global AI Ship Traffic and Daves Crooked Library mods. Add all three to your game and you will be able to fly over the maritime crisis for yourself, complete with a ship representing the locked Ever Given, all the ships parked in the Gulf of Suez waiting for it to loosen and even excavators trying to clear the channel.
It is a sight to behold from the sky, but technically the ship in this fashion is a generic vessel instead of the Ever given itself. If you want a more accurate fixed cargo ship, you can have it in the form of the Ever Given Landmark supplement or the Partially floating Ever given Ship MOD. Each offers a slightly different interpretation of the historical event.
Fortunately, it seems that Ever Given has been released in real life, leaving Microsoft’s Flight Simulator the only place where this crisis still exists. That’s probably the best thing.
