‘I would have preferred a new offensive mechanic instead of a defensive’ – Nemo gives his impression of Street Fighter 5’s new V-Shift mechanic

Street Fighter 5: Champion Editions meta is best known for being more offensively oriented compared to previous Street Fighter listings. Apparently in response to this, Capcom is adding V-Shift, a new defense mechanic, to Street Fighter 5 on February 22nd.

Liquid | Nemo recently released a video describing his impressions of the upcoming V-Shift mechanic. At one point, he stated that he would have preferred another offensive mechanic instead of a defensive one.

“We have to see how it actually works, but I would have preferred them to add a new offensive mechanic instead of a defensive mechanic,”

; Nemo said.

Nemo speculates that the V-Shift mechanic will be completely invincible against attacks, throws and projectiles from the first frame. He also suspects that this mechanic may make it difficult for informal players to prosecute a crime while this mechanic exists.

Going forward, it appears that players must be careful about canceling norms for specials, as this may result in them being penalized by the V-Shift mechanic.
