- Huawei has announced a new training track with a big screen called Huawei Band 6.
- Huawei Band 6 is a new branded band 6, despite the two companies being separated.
- The new training tracker boasts 14 days of battery life and oxygen monitoring throughout the day.
A few months ago, Honor was officially separated from the parent company Huawei, although the DNA that bound the two can still be seen today. Look no further than the new Huawei Band 6, a training track that is actually a brand new Honor Band 6.
Honor’s unit was the recipient of one of Android Authority CES 2021 Top Picks Awards, and with good reason. The form factor for big screen and two weeks long battery life are excellent features that are not so common in the budget-friendly training tracking area.
Huawei Band 6 has the same large 1.47-inch AMOLED screen with touch screen, which makes it much more spacious than a traditional training track. Despite its larger size, it weighs only 18 g. In particular, the Huawei Band 6 also shares similarities with the Huawei Watch Fit. Although Band 6 is a bit smaller and has better battery life.
A large case allows for a large battery. Huawei Band 6 can last up to 14 days on a single charge with “average” use or 10 days with intense use.
The training tracker has an optical heart rate sensor, as well as SpO2 monitoring throughout the day. Oxygen monitoring during the day is normally something we see on advanced health-focused devices, so it’s great to see Huawei include it in band 6. It will also warn you if your blood oxygen level dips too low throughout the day.
It can also track your sleep and report your heart rate during sleep, sleep stages and breathing rate. Menstrual tracking is also here, so women can track their periods, manage pregnancy plans and more.
Finally, the band supports a total of 96 training modes. Six modes can be tracked automatically: indoor / outdoor running, indoor / outdoor walking, elliptical and rowing machine. Huawei says it can also track 11 “professional” modes, including running, cycling and … rope jumping. We have asked Huawei for more details to see exactly what that means.

Don’t expect too many smartwatch features, though. Huawei Band 6 will be able to offer basic mirror messages, as well as an external camera shutter and the ability to control the phone’s music, but third-party apps are not supported.
Huawei Band 6 will be available in Graphite Black, Amber Sunrise, Sakura Pink and Forest Green sometime soon, but that’s all we know for now. There is no word on pricing or availability yet, but the Honor Band 6 will soon be available for around $ 35. It is possible that Huawei’s laptops may be launched at about the same price.
