How would RunAway see Season 2 of the Overwatch League?



The Overwatch League has shown that the best Overwatch community has to offer throughout season 1.

But it also had disappointments. And one of the biggest disappointments for Overwatch League season 1 was that it was not RunAway. The Overwatch community assumed that one of the biggest fan bases in Korea and abroad assumed that at least one of the 12 teams offered to pick up this group of extremely talented players.

But the news never came and the feeling of disappointment as a RunAway fan has been insurmountable.

One year later, our boys in pink (and mother Flowervin) will finally show that they still have what it takes to be part of the best and with season 2 Overwatch Contenders Championship Under the belt it's time for RunAway to put their eyes on the second season of the Overwatch League.

And here I present you my version of RunAway in the Overwatch League.

Analyzes Current Family [1

9659008] The team's real MVP is the coaches and Flowervin. They have found a way to effectively rotate their DPS lineup between maps and strategies to maximize their boot power. I dare say that RunAway has never seen this strong. But that does not mean they are invincible. RunAway has shown their holes throughout the season and if they are to succeed in the Overwatch League, they must identify them and fill them with additional coaching support or recruit new talents that complement their setup.

Let's look at the current list:

Tanks – BUMPER & Jjanu

BUMPER & JJANU has been the dynamic duo of the season. They have probably been the strongest thought lineup in Korean contenders and it's not hard to tell why. First and foremost, BUMPERs super aggressiveness has captured its opponents many times and made it difficult to handle him. Jjanu has evolved from a relatively quiet D.Va in season 1 to one of the best in Korean contenders. Now he is perfectly perfectly balanced between his duties and his D.Va bombs are on point.

DPS – Haksal, Hooreg, seominsoo & Stitch

Haksal & Stitch, together with BUMPER, are the remaining remaining members of the original RunAway. With extensive LAN experiences, you should be able to count them when they are needed most. But that is not always the case. Both Haksal and Stitch experienced slips, and consistency is something they need to work with. But when they are in fire, they are literally unstoppable and able to carry their team in victory. Their hero pools have become broader throughout their career, and are slowly becoming one of the most valuable players in the Overwatch community.

The two new additions, seominsoo and Hooreg have had their ups and downs. Seominsoo has been fantastic, but he has also been quiet. The real strength of Seominsoo is his flexibility and has coupling moments. However, the same could not be said of Hooreg. Although he was considered one of the best hit scanners during APEX, he has failed to show this so far. We can only hope that he will soon be able to return to his old self.

Support – Slime & TwilighT

I would claim that RunAway's support is their strongest part of their setup. Not only are they mechanically skilled and have incredible gameplay, they are also incredibly consistent. While everyone in RunAway could be considered one of the best in their roles, both thoughts and DPS lines had consistency problems. Although it is far from perfect, Slime and TwilighT seem to make the least mistake and have shown why they are considered to be one of the best duods in Korea.

The Adult Family – NYXL Approach


NYXL's philosophy of rotating players based on maps is the most optimal way to approach team building. Here are some reasons why:

1. It prevents long-term burnout / damage

2. Players may specialize in certain map types that they are more comfortable with

3. It gives all players equal opportunity to play

Furthermore, players give equal opportunity to play, as opposed to stigmatization of "non-starter" alignments that can damage the player's trust and improve morale . Therefore, filling the router may benefit RunAway in the long run, and here are my personal additions to the team.

Tank – r0ar (Kongdoo Panthera):

Here is a controversial opinion: r0ar is a little better than BUMPER.

BUMPER is often seen to create these hyper-aggressive games that are exciting, effective and catch people's attention. But his aggressiveness comes with some dangers, and BUMPER costs them to fight from time to time. r0ar, on the other hand, is less aggressive, but more consistent. And I think these two players can complement each other in the league. When you play in a battle that requires aggression, BUMPER can join the show. If the struggles require a methodological approach, r0ar can lead the way.
