Hideo Kojima Announces Death Stranding Director’s Cut

During tonight’s Summer Game Fest stream, Geoff Keighley got pen pal Hideo Kojima up for a video call to chat about his next game. Kojima said many things, none of which revealed much about the new game at all, but he revealed that a Death Stranding Director’s Cut is on the way. They showed some footage that looked suspiciously like a Death Stranding X Metal Gear crossover.

In the teaser trailer, we see Sam Porter Bridge sneaking into a large warehouse being patrolled by boys with guns. Sam picks up a large box of human size, inspects it thoroughly, empties lots of oranges out of it, then climbs in like a curious cat. He gets out shortly afterwards, and does not commit to sneaking.

The area and masked dudes shown in the teaser do not look like something that is currently in Death Stranding, suggesting that Director̵

7;s Cut may have new places to explore, and new factions to meet.

So far, Death Stranding Director’s Cut has only been announced for PS5. However, the original game took to the PC in the end, so hopefully we’ll see Director’s Cut join further down. Keighley says the new version of the game will be revealed in a few weeks.
