Grado is legendary among audio files – partly because it makes really good outdoor headphones with a wonderful retro design, and partly becausefor over 60 years.
Now, for the first time, Grado will offer a wireless headset –
You are looking at the Grado GW100, a Bluetooth 4.2with the same trademark Grado styling, Grado audio drivers and outdoor design as always.
"We took our time and made no compromises on the GW100. Nothing is lost except the wires," writes Grado on his website.
Grado also claims that they are the only open Bluetooth headphones on the market, although there is a likely cause: Bluetooth headphones are often a private way of listening to music and conversations on the public, while earphones such as Grado are … let's just say they tend to play sound.
The company claims that the GW100 will last 15 hours at a cost of 50 percent volume and it also comes with a 3.5mm audio connector and cable if you prefer to connect a physical cord. In addition, there is a GW100 microphone, so you can use it as a Bluetooth headset.
According to a user guide that CNET found in a brand new FCC filing, you can use the power button to accept or reject calls, or double-click it to call your phone caller – another use for that microphone. You want to charge the headset with a micro USB cable.
What we do not know about the Grado GW100 is the retail price or the release date – but Grado's official online store partner 4ourears.net suggests that they will cost $ 249 (about £ 200 or AU $ 330) online. Grado's own page only has a "notify me" button for future pre orders. Battery life: 10m
