Hogwarts Legacy, the role-playing game in the Harry Potter universe, has been delayed until sometime in 2022. The game’s delay was announced via a statement on the official Twitter account on Wednesday.
“We want to thank fans from all over the world for the huge response to the announcement Hogwarts Legacy from our Portkey Games brand, ”the developer said in a statement. “Creating the best possible experience for all Wizarding World and game fans is most important to us, so we give the game the time it needs.”
Hogwarts Legacy is developed by Avalanche Software, the studio behind the Disney Infinity Games, and published by Portkey Games, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment̵
The game will be an action RPG and will take place at the famous magic school that Harry Potter calls home through his adventures in the books. However, far from both the original book series and the recent Fantastic Beasts movies, Hogwarts Legacy will be set in the 19th century, giving players a chance to see more of Wizarding World and discover some of the history and secrets of the series’ most famous school.
Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled for release next year on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
