Google Updates The Messages app to fix the error that violated search functionality [APK Download]
Some of you have recently discovered an annoying error in Google's SMS app notifications (previous Android messages), which search function would no longer work – ironically when your company is primarily known as a search engine. Fortunately, a solution is now released and the problem should no longer be presented. “/>
Hello @Google Thank you for updating your operating system #Pixel so now I can not search my text messages by anything other than the people in the conversation. It was better when I could search the messages for any word in a message.

Artem was first notified of the error of the above tweet from @DaRealMG and he managed to reproduce the error himself. A googler responded to that thread and a message help forum also detailed the problem. Just a week or so after finding out about it, Google has already rolled out an update with a solution. According to Googles on the forum:
3.8.043 is the version that solves this and it should be available to you now.
We can confirm that this version actually resolves the search query and everything will be back to normal (see above) as long as you have the latest update. Take a look at the Play Store to see if you can install it from there or download it from the APK Mirror instead if you do not want to wait.
