Reports from prominent Android users showed an unexpected issue with Google's Pixel 2 XL phones. Well-known techies Artem Russakovskii and Marquees Brownlee describe their independent slow Pixel 2 XL experiences, with Russakovsky's case being investigated by Google.
Soon after, a rumor said that Google may have identified the reasons why the phone would experience significant delay, with one of the fixes as a full hardware replacement.
Meanwhile, Google issued a new statement on the matter saying that the problems are not widespread and that it is premature for conclusions.
Here's a Google spokesman BGR :
We have teams that constantly control and monitor the performance of our devices and our data indicate that this is not a common issue. Getting bug reports is a common part of our process ̵1; as is common for most consumer units. We use these to assess what may be wrong and work with any necessary solutions. We're still investigating this report, so it's too early to draw conclusions.
The same comment was given to others, Russakovskii included:
As a reminder, his repair experience is so far:
Brownlee said in a video that he does not use Pixel anymore because other phones are much faster than Google's flagship.
But just because two prominent names in the technological world experienced layers of Pixel 2 XL, do not. It does not mean that all Pixel 2 XL suffer from the same problems. It's not just because Google says it, but because we had seen many delay reports from more concerned users.
If you're one of the affected people, do not hesitate to contact Google about it.
