Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are among the best phones on the market today because of their good cameras, great performance and close integration with Google's home-made Android software.
But the next generation of Google's flagship phones, likely to be called Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL, can be radically different. Google bought at least HTC's phone hardware team in September 2017, and has since wrapped it into its own operation. On Monday, it also debutedknown as which includes ̵
Google has not formally announced Pixel 3, so most of what we think we know is based on rumors and hearsay. However, we are confident that the company will avoid the errors associated with Pixel 2 XL. This phone suffered from input problems and other errors related to the phone's OLED display – failure steps that resulted in some media attention, which occurred on some first positive reviews with warnings. It also focused on Google's warranty, which was eventually expanded to accommodate the issues. (Note that the iPhone Xs OLED screen is not immune from incineration either.)
Although the next generation of pixels is not expected to debut until later this year, we've gathered the great buzzen on Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL below, and will continue to update this place regularly with news and rumors.
Rumors: First Video of the New Pixel 3
Earlier this week, the Telegram user @LuchkovCH has "leaked" pictures and now they have fallen a whole YouTube video here. In that they go through the Settings menu, the launcher and the driving rules. It's a look at the (chopped) front, looked behind and it looks like a single USB-C charging port.
Confirmed: Pixel 3 will not be the first to get Android Pie
Released speculation that Google will introduce its latest operating system on Pixel 3, the companyto the existing generation of Pixel 3, phones on August 6th. Pixel 3 is probably the first phone that runs Pie right out of the box if it matters in any way.
Android Pie focuses mostly on improvements behind the scene designed to make Android phones faster and save battery life. But a big update on Android Pie is the support for hack – the small cuts on phones with screens that extend across most of the face of the phone, popular with Apple's iPhone X. Which leads us to …
Probably: Pixel 3 want a big notch
We know that Android Pie supports chopped phones and according to the increasing number of renders and leaked images we see, it's no coincidence. If the images are accurate, Pixel 3 will have a notch – and not just a notch, but a big, deep notch.
The latest alleged leaked image, posted this week by a Ukrainian on the Telegram app, follows the footsteps of previous. Everyone shows a phone that looks pretty like Pixel 2 XL – but with a notch deeper than iPhone X.
Rumor: Pixel 3 Comes In October
Google introduced the original Pixel and super-sized sibling , Pixel XL October 4, 2016. Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL debuted exactly one year later. We have every reason to believe that the company will remain faithful in this plan, introducing the next phone in October.
Rumor: The Phone Can Have Wireless Charging
XDA Developers found evidence in an Android Pie beta release that points to Wireless Charge Support. This rumor dovetails with another – that the new pixel may have a glass back that would be more contributing to wireless charging.
Google has created wireless charging phones before (like Google Nexus 6 and Google Nexus 5), but stopped in 2015 with the launch of Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. Perhaps it brings back the function, but due to the wireless charging features of iPhone 8 and iPhone X.
Rumor: Pixel 3 XL will have front speakers
According to a recent case, leakage from Gizmo China, Pixel 3 XL would like to flaute two forward facing cameras.
The apparently leaked images also show that the speaker will be located on the front of the underside and the fingerprint reader will still be located on the back of the camera
Rumor: Pixel 3 XL will have two front cameras, new screen
In addition Hacked, Bloomberg said that Pixel 3 XL would have an edge-to-edge display and two cameras in front of the camera. The smaller Pixel 3, however, does not want any of these things.
The German news site WinFuture, which has a fairly reliable record of technical rumors, also reported that Google will collaborate with Taiwan manufacturer Foxconn (same company as making iPhones) to build "new display hardware."
Rygte: A premium pixel will fight 2018 iPhones
Tech blog Droid Life reported that Google wants three new Pixel phones in the tube for 2018. This trio may contain a mysteriously higher version – maybe Intended to compete with $ 999 iPhone X – in addition to the standard and XL models. As a reminder, 64GB Pixel 2 starts at $ 649 (£ 629 or AU $ 1,079) and Pixel 2 XL starts at $ 849 (£ 799 or AU $ 1,399).
The frequent, frequent tipster Evan Blass tweeted that, according to a "reliable source", Google will deliver a Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL – as well as the next generation of Pixel Buds and a Pixel brand watch. If he is right, we are back to look at two phones, not three. Pixel 3 XL may need to take on 2018s iPhones alone.
Rumor: Or maybe Google will make a cheaper Pixel instead?
Google says to be developing a cheap "medium-sized" pixel for emerging markets that can be debated this summer, according to Economic Times.
It is not clear if Google will bring this budget model to the United States; timing is not synchronized with Pixel's regular October debut. But such a phone would certainly make an interesting foil for Apple's rumored iPhone SE 2, as we could see in September, when the iPhone usually starts.
