And now Google is continuing its updates in this regard by providing the ability for verified companies to chat with customers directly from the Google Maps mobile app.
Why is this such a big improvement?
First of all, not everyone wants to call a business, because just sending a message and then waiting for a response is often the more convenient approach, especially when you can not talk on the phone or the staff is busy. Enabling businesses to respond from a mobile device makes it easier for small businesses to improve customer relationships so they can be notified when someone sends them a message, even on the go.
“Once you’ve turned on messages from your business profile, you can start responding to customers on Google Maps from the Business Messages section of the Updates tab. And soon you will also be able to see your messages directly from Google Search (via the Customers menu in your company profile) and send messages to customers directly from your computer,“Explains Google.
The new update is live today, and confirmed companies can start chatting with customers directly from the Google Maps app on iPhone and Android using the latest version in stores.
