Google Duo group calls and low light mode testing

Google's messaging work has mainly resulted in a lot of headaches, but a great success for the company has been the Duo video calling program. Now we get a first look at Google Duo group conversations, as well as a new low light mode.

The Best Gifts for Android Users

In previous teardowns of Google Duo, we have been able to see both of these upcoming features. Pieces of group calls first appeared in Google Duo back in March with low light mode debuting in November.

Today, Android Police today has gotten screenshots, presumably from an unpublished version of the Duo, which shows how these new features look.

When you start with Google Duo grouping, it seems that the feature will support up to 8 people at once (7 guests and yourself). An alternative to "Create a group" allows users to select the participants and even mention the group.

It seems that when the conversation is started, new members cannot be added to the group. Unfortunately we do not yet know how the Duo interface handles multiple people at the same time, but we can see that in the lower right corner there is a button to see the participants in the conversation.
