Google App 8.21 Always List and Listen Pixel Stand User Interface, Trusted Devices [APK Insight]

The latest beta version of the Google app rolls out this afternoon with a handful of developments related to the Pixel Stand wireless upload device that can start at the side of Pixel 3 We have a new glimpse of the interface and its functionality.

About APK Insight : In this APK Insight post, we've decompiled the latest version of a program Google uploaded to the Play Store. When we decompile these files (called APKs, for Android apps), we can see different code lines within the hint of possible future features. Keep in mind that Google may or may not send these features, and our interpretation of what they are may be incomplete. We try to enable those who are done to show you how to look in the event they send. Keep that in mind, read on.

Pixel Stand

Version 8.21

contains an animation that shows a user who speaks to Google Assistant and displays results while the device is still locked. The safe state is shown in the padlock icon at the bottom of the screen, while the device appears to always listen without user intervention of the screen required. We also found an interesting greeting prefaced with "aodmic" or always on display (AOD) mic.

Hello, how can I help?

Previous versions of the app showed how locked devices on a Pixel Stand are able to "Use your personal information to make suggestions, answer questions, and take action." In fact, the animation shows a person who draws up a calendar event.

Your assistant can use your personal information to make suggestions, answer questions and take action for you when the phone is locked and on your Pixel Stand

] Trusted Devices

Google Smart Lock, a part of Play Services, has long had a Trusted Devices option to keep the phone unlocked if a previously paired Bluetooth headset or contact is connected to and nearby .

Possibly related to pixel rack and other wireless charging platforms – Given how users can agree to trust a particular dock Google can add a Trusted Devices preference directly into Assistant Settings.

You can turn this off in Assistant Settings.

The Google app is working on a new "General" setting menu that may include preferences for both Recent and Personal Search.

The latter allows users to search Gmail, Calendar, and other supported third party apps right from the Google app.

Manage which info appears in searches from other apps you use. Only you can see these results.

How to update?

You can sign up for the Google app beta app here or by going to the Play Store listing on Android and scroll to the bottom. The latest beta version of the Google app is rolled out immediately when available.

We do not submit APKs to download directly provided the legal challenges related to copyright and the ability to remove. Meanwhile, this model is nowadays dangerous for future system-level changes from Android App Bundles and Google Play Dynamic Delivery.

Thanks to JEB Decompiler, which some APK Insight teardowns benefit from.
