Gollum Trailer Stealthily Slinks Around Middle-earth – / Film

Lord of the Rings: Gollum video game

You know the story of Lord of the Rings. What you do not know is the whole story of the hobbit, formerly known as Sméagol, who went mad by one ring and now fights in himself thanks to Gollum̵

7;s malicious personality. Video game creators Daedalic Entertainment will dig into the creature’s full story in Lord of the Rings: Gollum, and a new trailer gives us a taste of the stealth gameplay that makes you sneak quietly around Middle-earth.

Athletic and agile, hidden and cunning. Driven by the desire to once again hold what he lost in his hands, Gollum is one of the most fascinating characters in The Lord of the Rings.

He has seen things that others cannot imagine, he has survived things that others would not dare to mention. Torn by his divided personality, he may be evil and villainous like Gollum, but social and cautious like Sméagol.

Although important to the story of JRR Tolkien, many parts of Gollum’s quest have not been told in detail yet. In The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, you get to experience this story. From his time as a slave under the Dark Tower to his stay with the Elves of Mirkwood.

As you can see in the trailer above, you will move Gollum through a series of fantasy environments using concealment, agility and cunning. To get past dangerous creatures or through deadly settings, you have to climb, jump and grab around. And although Gollum is not exactly a skilled warrior, there will be more creative and villainous ways Gollum can take down enemies.

Since Gollum also has a shared personality, any decision you make will affect his mind. You can give in to the darker side of Gollum, or you can try to preserve the goodness and spark of reason again in what was once Sméagol. It’s all up to you in this adventure that takes place before Lord of the Rings begins.

Lord of the Rings: Gollum is scheduled for release on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, Nintendo Switch and PC at some point in 2022, but there is no exact release date yet.
