Goldlewis Dickinson has a unique measuring mechanic in Guilty Gear Strive, probably related to his foreign friend

Absolute Secretary of Defense finally got his time to shine outside of Story mode with his revelation as Guilty Gear Strive’s first DLC character, but there’s still a lot we do not know about how he will actually play.

There are some new clues that could change that, as it is now a confirmation that Goldlewis Dickinson actually has a kind of unique mechanic attached to his character.

7;s announcement page on Steam includes a new screenshot not seen in the first trailer that includes the game’s user interface, which reveals an unidentified meter object that hovers mysteriously over the voltage meter.

The thing is, however, that the extra meter does not do very much outside of any important points of interest.

Dickinson’s blue meter appears to have three levels to build up divided into two sections.

The blue color scheme matches the alleged alien the military man carries around in his coffin, so there’s a good chance it has something to do with it.

Some fans postulate the items that the alien throws out can change depending on his meter level, because the trailer shows that it sends in a drone bomb and gives Dickinson a minigun – which is also confirmed not to be an overdrive attack, since it shows that he has full voltage meter in the screen.

Building the meter can also strengthen Dickinson or give the attacks different characteristics, although it is still difficult to draw anything decisive from it given what we know about him at the moment.

Nagoriyuki and Zato-1, the other two characters with their own gauges in the game, have pretty much all their game plans that revolve around managing the said gauge, so it’s probably safe to assume that Goldlewis will also be very integrated.

Hopefully, Arc System Works will release a character introduction guide for Strive’s introductory DLC as they did with the rest of the launch. Otherwise, we have to wait until July 27 to take him on a trip and see what Dickinson is really hiding in the coffin.
