On February 6, 2021, Piko Interactive contacted Twitter user Forest of Illusion and asked them to stop distributing a Glover N64 prototype ROM. The company, which currently has the rights to Glover, also threatened lawsuits. This is according to a tweet posted by Forest of Illusion. At this point, it seems that the conflict is over, and both parties suggest that it was the result of a misunderstanding.
Piko Interactive teased it a Glover the project was in operation on 4 December 2020, although specific details about the nature of the project were not revealed at that time. We now know that Piko Interactive “… is planning an N64 wagon release along with other ports in a Kickstarter campaign.”
Piko Interactive further said that they support conservation and plan to release “many” games they have collected and acquired. The company also believes that the leak was beneficial in a way, as it led to the discovery of further bugs by members of the community.
Piko Interactive has apologized for “coming out a little strong” against conservation efforts.
