Many new Wear OS hardware has been on the market in recent weeks, but only one watch has offered Qualcomm's new Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset. Fossil Sport has today been revealed with the latest chipset and a fantastic starting point.
The best gifts for Android users
Fossil's catalog of Wear OS watches is massive, but most have recently been refurbished with features like NFC and better waterproofing while still retaining the same Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset. With Fossil Sport, however, we get our first reasonable taste of what the new silicon can do since the debut of Montblanc Summit 2 last month.
The new fossil sport gives you many of the features you can expect on a Wear OS watch at this point, including the updated interface, NFC, GPS, a heart rate monitor and magnetic charge. The watch also has a unique Nylon and Aluminum casing that comes in two sizes – 41mm and 43mm. It even comes preinstalled with the new Spotify app for Wear OS, as well as a "peace of mind" app called Noonlight.
When it comes to Snapdragon Wear 3100 under the hood, it promises better stamina when using the new Wear OS modes. In normal use, the new Fossil Sport is classified for "24+ hours" in use. Use of "battery saver" mode, but users can pull a further 2 days out of the clock. The new chipset also makes it possible for Fossil to use an enhanced surround display mode that has better animations and support for multiple colors.
Fossil Sport is currently selling for $ 255. It makes it undoubtedly the cheapest time to date with a Snapdragon Wear 3100, and currently one of the best options for the Wear OS. Fossil retail sites will have the sport from November 12, and a Fossil Sports Pop-Up store will be at 138 Wooster St in New York City from November 9th to November 11th.
