Not only are popular time-limited modes back in full force, but a favorite weapon for fans is also becoming wicked. Furthermore, the game should be smoother than ever thanks to the latest wave of bug fixes.

The February 16 update is finally here, but before we get there, all we know is about Fortnite̵

7;s 15.40 update.

Fortnite v15.40 patch downtime

Not unlike previous weeks, Epic Games has confirmed the exact timing of the next update. Fortnite’s update v15.40 will be released on Tuesday 16 February. Downtime is scheduled to begin at approximately 4:00 AM ET 10 AM BST | 09.00 UTC.

While the new update provides new content, it will also remove various “unreleased assets are props,” Epic added. This means that downtime can be a bit longer than usual, as the developers overtake larger parts of the game.

However, as a result of these changes, the overall file size of Fortnite should be reduced going forward.

Epic had teased the return to a popular item. “Blast back with a favorite without a favorite,” they shared in a February 15 tweet.

‘Blast’ points to something explosive on the way. From Quad Launcher to Dynamite, there are many explosive options that have been vaulted away for months.

On February 16, when the dust settled on the update, it was revealed that Flint Knock Pistol was the one who returned to battle.

Portals added

Fortnite leakers have reported that two Hunter portals have been added to the game, potentially lining up two new crossovers for season 5.

We have already seen The Mandalorian, God of War, Halo and others appear during the current season – and ShiinaBR has revealed that two more encrypted skins are also on the way.

Limited time modes: Air Royale & Floor is Lava

Floor is Lava quickly became a fan favorite in Fortnite.

With Fortnite’s 15.40 update, two LTMs return. Both Air Royale and Floor is Lava will be back for everyone to enjoy.

The first was an extremely popular mode when it was released in April 2019. Air Royale loads all players into the X4 Stormwing until there is only one survivor left.

Meanwhile, Floor is Lava is the polar opposite. Instead of soaring through the sky, players start on the ground and have to climb up to avoid deadly lava.

Fortnite 15.40 bug fixes

In addition to the new content, Fortnite’s latest update also comes with a number of bug fixes. The 15.40 update is expected to fix issues in not only Battle Royale, but also Save The World and Creative modes.
