Fortnite New Years Event goes live in the game ahead of schedule

It seems that the New Years Event in the game went live in the Fortnite ahead of the expected schedule, as players watch the countdown, disco and fireworks in the sky.

At around 2AM Pacific Time on Monday, December 31, 2018 – Fortnite players began to hear unique sound effects accompanied by a visual phenomenon in the sky.

Many players assume that this is the annoyed and previously leaked New Years in-game Event that would happen when the New Year rolls officially. Epic Games has not yet commented on this.

The event seems to start with party music and sound effects while a large disco ball sank from a portal into the sky. When the disco ball has come all the way into the sky, a countdown from 10 is displayed nearby.

The disco ball starts spinning and emits light that is synchronized with the beat, this continues until the countdown reaches 0.

When the countdown when 0 many fireworks are settled in the sky and confetti falls from the disco ball, it can sound incredible sound effects. All players seem to start dancing and are not able to kill.

There are currently New Year (2019) in a few places around the world, such as New Zealand, perhaps the event is set to play every hour until each area is in the New Year.

Perhaps this was a test of Epic Games and was not intended to play on live servers. It is also possible that Epic only planned the event for the wrong time.

Keep up-to-date for updates and full coverage when the event is believed to be official.
