Fortnite guided rockets removed temporarily after players have reported permanent invisibility



Fortnite guided missiles have proved to be somewhat problematic since they were laid back in March. Basically they were too powerful and Epic Games removed them for a full three months before they were restored ̵

1; only for players to detect that a rake's swing speed was linked directly to the game's frame rate. Yesterday, Epic had to remove them for repairs, apparently because the players found an error that made you permanently invisible if you combined guided missiles with Shadow Stones.

As mentioned on Twitter and this Reddit thread, players were able to turn permanently invisible if they spammed shooting with a guided missile while using a Shadow Stone. They can run around, pick up weapons, heal and shoot enemies while in this state.

Epic did not mention the error when the disabled weapon – the game's Twitter account said simply that guided missiles had been "temporarily disabled while we investigated a problem" – but it just came a few hours after players began to talk about the problem. Nor did it provide a timeframe for how long a solution would take.

In other missile-based news, an epic employee at Reddit confirmed that the player complained about missiles that always go north just as soon as they are kicked will be addressed in an upcoming update.
