Ford Australia has revealed pictures of race Mustang that will make its Supercars Championship debut next year down.
The forthcoming "strenuous test program" of the new Mustang Supercar prototype was performed by DJR Team Penske, the longest running team in what was once called the V8 Supercars.
After debut in 1980, the team already has seven Drivers Championships in the name, five of which were won by the founder of the team ("DJR" himself) Dick Johnson. Gold Coast-based outfit also won the 2017 team championship.

Current manager Scott McLaughlin and Fabian Coulthard, the nest's 13-hour Formula One Grand Prix winner David, were on driver details during the tests, although Tickford Racing, who will also enter at least three Ford Mustang's next season will also be part of the car's homologation development program.
23RedRacing is also set to enter a single Mustang for two-hour Bathurst winner Will Davison.
There are still early days regarding technical details, but expect the first coup to start a V8 Supercars race for almost two decades to get a touch of the competing debut in Adelaide the 2nd. and 3rd of March.
